The purpose of the website is to provide a written and pictorial journey along the length of the River Chew from its source at Chewton Mendip to the confluence with the River Avon at Keynsham, including the reservoirs at Litton and Chew Stoke.
At the bottom of each page you'll find a list of related articles, links to maps and further reading material, each providing additional information on various aspects of the river, its valley and the towns and villages that border the Chew. The images on each page can be enlarged by clicking on them.
Visitors to the site are encouraged to contribute by submitting stories, images or information about the river and the surrounding area, so that in time the site will evolve into a definitive online book about the River Chew. Ideas for future pages include features on bridges, mills, bird life, recreation and a series of Chew tales.
Please feel welcome to submit content to the author by using the methods outlined on the
contact page. In the meantime, enjoy the site and don't forget to get in contact should you spot an error or omission, or if you have any relevant photographs that you'd like included on the site. Thank you for your visit and for your interest.
